We provide services related to water resources, reservoirs and dams, water supply, wastewater networks and treatment, flood mitigation and river basin management.\r\nYour Key Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll inspect and monitor construction contractor work and prepare daily inspection reports documenting labor, equipment, materials, work activities, safety observations, and construction progress.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll review contractor reports and maintain accurate project records and photographic documentation.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll review and provide input on field-related submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), plan clarifications, geotechnical information, inspection and test plans, and CPM schedules.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll monitor contractor receipt inspection of materials arriving on-site and observe off-site fabrication, production, and testing activities as required.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll monitor construction progress for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, plans, specifications, safety standards, and agency requirements.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll inspect and verify contractor compliance as detailed in the applicable procedural manual(s) and the Construction and Materials Specifications.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll identify, document, and communicate non-conforming work and verify implementation of corrective actions.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll witness field and laboratory testing activities and verify compliance with approved Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll observe tunneling operations including shaft construction, excavation, TBM operations, microtunneling, grouting, ground support installation, lining installation, and other trenchless construction activities.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll coordinate daily with the Construction Manager, Resident Project Representative, Owner, Engineer, Contractor, and testing agencies regarding field activities and issues.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with applicable safety policies and procedures.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll utilize Agency/Client Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) and other electronic systems to prepare inspection reports and maintain project documentation.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll assist with authorized Force Account change order work performed on a time and materials basis, documenting the use of contractor labor, equipment and materials.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou'll review the monthly progress pay estimate submitting by the construction contractor to verify requests for payment of materials, percent complete and earned value.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou prepare and monitor a project punch list for deficient or uncompleted work by the construction contractor.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour Capabilities And Credentials\r\n\r\n\r\nYou're able to work in a manner that ensures personal safety as well as the safety of fellow employees by following project and company health and safety guidelines and policies.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou understand and interpret contract documents and test plan for a designated Work Package for a specific construction activity.\r\n\r\n\r\nYou're able to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agency.\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation & Experience\r\n\r\n\r\nMinimum of five (5) years of construction project inspection experience required.\r\n\r\n\r\nSuccessful completion of Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management is preferred.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience on at least two tunnel projects, including trenchless tunneling experience.\r\n\r\n\r\nAt least ten years of recent experience in heavy construction, with at least five years of tunnel inspection experience on large and complex engineering/construction projects.\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge of tunnel construction methods, including TBM, microtunneling, pipe jacking, shaft construction, grouting operations, and ground support systems.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to interpret plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, contract documents, shop drawings, and construction schedules.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, inspection and test plans, and quality control documentation.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience performing QA/QC inspections, documenting non-conforming work, and verifying corrective actions.\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, testing agencies, and client representatives.\r\n\r\n\r\nPreferred current First Aid and CPR training from a provider recognized by OSHA.\r\n\r\n\r\nPreferred OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment such as a respirator and meet physical demands including walking, standing, lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in confined spaces.\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
