Servers are responsible for creating a seamless guest experience while embodying Prévenance at every table.\nThe ideal candidate can tell the story of the food, wine, cocktails, nonprofit mission, and service philosophy without making the experience feel rehearsed or overexplained.\nCore Responsibilities\nLead guests through the menu with confidence, accuracy, and warmth.\nDescribe Southern-Creole inspiration, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings.\nMaintain strong knowledge of allergens, dietary restrictions, and menu modifications.\nCoordinate pacing with the kitchen, bar, host, wait assist, and management.\nExecute proper steps of service from greeting through farewell.\nUse guest cues to adjust tone, pace, detail, and level of interaction.\nSell with integrity by matching recommendations to the guest’s experience.\nMaintain polished table presence, including marking, clearing, resetting, crumb management, and beverage awareness.\nSupport wine, Madeira, Port, cocktail, and non-alcoholic beverage service.\nAccurately enter orders and communicate special requests.\nResolve guest concerns quickly and involve management when appropriate.\nModel refined service habits for youth trainees and newer staff.\nFine Dining Standards\nKnows every dish, key ingredient, sauce, garnish, and intended pairing.\nNever auctions food when avoidable.\nMarks the table before food arrives.\nKeeps water, wine, cocktails, silverware, napkins, and table maintenance ahead of the guest.\nReads the table before speaking.\nMaintains a polished tone, posture, and pace.\nTreats every guest as important without creating stiffness or intimidation.\nMakes service feel effortless, not performative.\nQualifications\nPrior serving experience required; fine dining or upscale dining experience strongly preferred.\nStrong food, wine, cocktail, and service knowledge or willingness to study consistently.\nAbility to carry trays, stand for extended periods, and work high-volume dinner service.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\nComfortable working in a mission-driven environment with youth trainees.\nProfessional appearance and composure required.\nSuccess Looks Like\nA successful Server makes guests feel guided, cared for, and never rushed.
