At TW Constructors, we build more than facilities, we build community support and success.The RoleThe Safety Manager will provide support to the project staff and the TW Constructors safety team in an effort to execute corporate safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. In addition to your project responsibilities, you shall participate in and complete all assignments designated to you. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in development of a zero injury safety culture on each project, conducting at least weekly documented jobsite safety inspections, effectively communicate orientations for all new project workers, assist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysis, actively promote and participate in daily stretch and flex program, identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents, support corporate goals and initiatives, emphasize and support proactive safety such as near miss/hazard reporting, coach and recognize workers on safe work methods, report all incidents in an effective and timely manner following established protocols and be a champion in motivating workers to perform their jobs safely! Your responsibilities will be all encompassing for each project you will be dedicated to. Travel is a requirement of this position.ResponsibilitiesTravel is required with this positionConduct weekly documented jobsite safety inspectionsDevelop and support a zero-injury safety culture on each projectDirect orientations for all new project workersAssist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysisIdentify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidentsReport all incidents in an effective and timely mannerAssist in development of the project safety programEstablish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees. Administer and record their participation in the orientation program and issue identification to those employees completing the orientation programAttend all initial meetings with the project staff and subcontractor representatives to clearly define their role within the confines of the project safety programManage other safety supervisors on the projectConduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with each subcontractor representatives to establish safety procedures prior to subcontractor’s activity on site.Establish and conduct regular (weekly) safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and with project staff to ensure proper complianceFacilitate training for site personnel and ensure that standards are compliant to OSHA/TW Constructors and also in compliance with Federal, State, and Local standardsEnsure and maintain a log of each subcontractor toolbox safety meetingReview each subcontractor’s safety program and ensure that it meets or exceeds the project safety program requirementsEnsure that each subcontractor designates a safety representative that is properly trained in subcontractor’s scope of work and has the proper authority to correct safety issuesConduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections and complete the safety checklist noting safety violations and corrective actionsRecord, notify and prepare written report of any violations or unsafe practices to subcontractors for immediate correction actionsStop at once any violation or unsafe acts or practicesAssist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing proper fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control proceduresInvestigate all incidents and generate proper reports in a timely matterEstablish and maintain all required safety recordsConduct a monthly overview safety meeting and attend project staff meetings to brief on safety issuesPerform other duties as necessaryQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalentBilingual in Spanish is a plusElectrical and/or Lift Safety Experience PreferredGeneral knowledge of construction principles and practices required5-10 years of safety experience or combination of education or multiple years of experience in building construction, with a working knowledge of safety principles and techniquesField and on-site experience is a plusOSHA 30 hour construction accreditation requiredOSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plusComputer skills with familiarity with Microsoft OfficeExcellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individualsExperienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work is a plusCreative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgencySuccessful internships or safety engineering experience on projects is a plusHighly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environmentVery strong work ethic with the willingness to travelCapable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffoldingAbility to lift objects at least 50lbsWhy People Choose TW ConstructorsTW Constructors is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and safe workplace where people feel connected, valued, and able to reach their full potential.
