Automation EngineerLocation: Abbotsford, WISalary Range: $100,000 – $130,000Relocation Assistance: ProvidedPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission, and support automated industrial equipment. This role offers end-to-end project ownership—from electrical design and PLC programming through on-site startup and customer support. The position is based in Abbotsford, WI, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical & Controls DesignDesign electrical schematics and electrical panel layoutsSize electrical loads for disconnects, drives, servos, and related componentsDevelop electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs) and electrical drawing listsSupport R&D efforts related to electrical and machine safety systems, including barcode readers and OPC serversCreate customer proposal and concept drawingsPLC, HMI & Motion ControlDevelop PLC programs primarily using Rockwell Studio 5000Develop HMI applications using Rockwell platformsPerform servo sizing calculations and motion system design supportExecute servo commissioning and tuningPerform PLC commissioning and system validationCommissioning & Field SupportCommission control panels and automation hardware, including firmware updatesTravel to customer sites for equipment installation and startupSupport extended installation schedules (12-hour days, 7 days/week until completion)Provide customer service and technical support during and after installationAdditional ResponsibilitiesCapture photos and video documentation when requiredSupport troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Strong PLC programming experience, preferably Rockwell / Allen-Bradley platformsExperience designing electrical schematics and industrial control panelsKnowledge of industrial automation systems, drives, servos, and motion controlWillingness to travel for equipment installation and commissioningPreferred QualificationsExperience with HMI development and industrial networkingExposure to OPC servers and industrial data systemsBackground in machine safety standards and electrical complianceCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range of $100K – $130KRelocation assistance providedHands-on role with ownership of automation projects from concept through startup
