Job Description Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist OpportunityOur organization's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has a rich history of pioneering advancements in women's reproductive health. We are proud to have developed the Apgar score for evaluating newborn health, to be the first in the nation to conduct an amniocentesis, and to have introduced RhoGAM, which has significantly reduced Rh-incompatibility reactions that previously led to numerous fetal and neonatal fatalities and health issues annually.Situated within the dynamic medical community of CUIMC, our team comprises over 100 physicians and more than 40 residents and fellows who collaborate with researchers and clinicians to address women's health care needs. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, training the next generation of Ob/Gyn leaders, supporting innovative research, and integrating these advancements into clinical practice.Position OverviewThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is looking for a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible hospitalist to become part of our well-established academic practice.We invite applications from experienced OBGYN professionals who focus on inpatient care or possess significant expertise in hospital-based obstetric services. Ideal candidates may have completed an OBGYN Hospitalist Fellowship or have substantial experience as obstetricians.Key Responsibilities:The successful applicant should possess extensive experience in all facets of inpatient obstetric care, including labor and delivery, postpartum management, and handling obstetric emergencies. Candidates should be adept at managing complex pregnancies and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic setting.Clinical duties will encompass labor and delivery coverage, postpartum care, participation in rapid response and obstetric emergency management, and working alongside MFM subspecialists, OB/GYN specialists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing staff to enhance patient care and outcomes.Academic responsibilities will include engaging in teaching activities with medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as contributing to quality improvement initiatives, simulation training, and departmental research efforts.Qualifications:Essential Degree:Medical Degree from an Accredited InstitutionRequired Qualifications:Eligibility for New York Medical LicenseBoard Eligible or Board Certified statusCompleted Residency in Obstetrics and GynecologyA minimum of 3 years of experience in a Labor and Delivery Unit following the completion of OBGYN ResidencyCompensation & Benefits:We offer a competitive salary that reflects experience.
