These models support various domains, with an emphasis on credit and fraud risk, as well as customer experience, marketing, and more.Your work will strengthen Zip's core Data Science capabilities—from faster iteration cycles to rigorous model governance and documentation. You will also play a key role in unlocking new business value by applying cutting-edge modeling techniques and AI solutions that drive revenue growth, cost efficiency, and improved operations.Responsibilities Own the model lifecycle end-to-end; develop, validate, and deploy AI/ML solutions to complex business problems, focusing on credit and fraud risk modelsCommunicate modeling objectives, assumptions, limitations, and performance considerations clearly to stakeholdersExplore and validate data sources, including ad hoc profiling and integrity checksEnsure rigorous documentation and maintain clean, maintainable codeStay updated with evolving tools and techniques (e.g., GenAI) through self-driven learningCollaborate with ML engineers to deploy scalable, robust solutionsWork cross-functionally to gather insights and requirementsQualifications Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field5+ years of experience in Data Science2+ years of experience in Financial ServicesExperience with credit and/or fraud riskExperience with cashflow data (e.g., Plaid, MX, Finicity) is a strong plusProficiency with Python and SQLHands-on experience with Spark/PySparkFamiliarity with AI architectures/platforms/tools (e.g., neural networks, GenAI)Solid understanding of probability, statistics, and research methodsFamiliarity with version control systems like GitSelf-starter with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentBenefits Zip offers a flexible working culture, incentive programs, PTO, parental leave, insurance coverage, a casual office environment, learning stipends, and a 401k match.
