Material Handling/Robotics Technician 2nd Shift – JLLWhat this job involves:As a Material Handling/Robotics Technician, you will be the technical expert ensuring seamless operations of sophisticated robotic and automated material handling systems in a dynamic warehouse environment. This critical role combines electrical, mechanical, and robotic expertise to maintain cutting-edge automation technology that drives JLL's operational excellence. You will troubleshoot complex integrated systems, perform preventative maintenance on robotic cells and conveyor equipment, and ensure continuous operations through proactive problem-solving. Your technical acumen and attention to detail will directly contribute to minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and maintaining the safety standards that define JLL's commitment to operational excellence.What your day-to-day will look like:Complete preventative and predictive maintenance routines on robotic systems, automated conveyors, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with comprehensive documentation in CMMS systemsTroubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, PLCs, and robotic controls using technical schematics and programming documentationMaintain and troubleshoot robotic cells, conveyance systems, and automated storage/retrieval equipment to ensure optimal system performanceRead and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, PLC programs, and robotic documentation to diagnose and resolve complex system integration issuesSupport cross-functional collaboration across facility operations while tracking maintenance inventory and managing department suppliesPromote and enforce safety protocols following OEM guidelines and established procedures in automated environmentsPerform precision maintenance work in various physical positions including confined spaces, elevated areas, and challenging industrial conditions during 12-hour shiftsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of experience with PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookBasic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and automation principlesDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documentation, electrical schematics, and automation blueprintsStrong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex integrated systems combining mechanical, electrical, and software componentsPhysical capability to lift up to 49 pounds, work 12-hour shifts with extended standing and walking, and perform repetitive movements with manual dexterity for precision tasksUnderstanding of safety protocols and procedures for working with automated equipment and robotic systemsExcellent attention to detail for maintenance documentation and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaborationPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Technology, or related technical fieldTechnical certifications in robotics, automation, industrial maintenance, or PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)4+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor systems, robotic controls, and industrial automation equipmentExperience with AutoStore ASRS or similar automated storage and retrieval systemsKnowledge of industrial robotics programming and maintenance, along with CMMS systems and computerized maintenance managementExperience with PLC systems, industrial automation networks, predictive maintenance technologies, and condition monitoring systemsKnowledge of lean maintenance practices, reliability-centered maintenance methodologies, and project management experience supporting automation initiativesLocation: Burton, MIWork Shift: 2nd Shift
