This leadership position is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience managing residential land development projects in Raleigh-Durham, NC.The successful candidate will lead project teams, oversee technical design and permitting efforts, manage client relationships, and mentor engineering staff while delivering high-quality residential developments across the state.ResponsibilitiesManage residential subdivision and mixed-use land development projects from due diligence through construction.Serve as the primary point of contact for developers, homebuilders, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and quality control.Oversee preparation and review of:Site grading plansStormwater management and SCM designUtility design (water and sewer)Roadway and pavement designErosion and sediment control plansConstruction documents and technical reportsCoordinate permitting with North Carolina agencies and local municipalities.Ensure projects comply with North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), municipal, and county regulations.Mentor project managers, engineers, and technical staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.Support business development by preparing proposals, attending client meetings, and identifying new project opportunities.Manage project financial performance, including budgets, profitability, and resource allocation.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) licenseMinimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on residential land development.Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Strong knowledge of North Carolina land development regulations, permitting processes, and municipal design standards.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.Experience working with residential developers and national homebuilders.PreferredFamiliarity with NCDEQ stormwater permitting, NPDES regulations, and local Unified Development Ordinances (UDOs).Experience in the Triangle, Charlotte Metro, Triad, or Coastal North Carolina development markets.Existing relationships with municipalities, counties, and private developers throughout North Carolina.Experience leading teams of engineers, designers, and project managers.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryAnnual performance bonusMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company match20 days PTOFlexible work schedule with hybrid optionsProfessional development and continuing education reimbursementPE license renewal and professional organization duesCareer advancement opportunities into Practice LeadWhy Join Us?Raleigh-Durham continues to experience significant residential growth, creating exciting opportunities to shape new communities across the state.
