Water & Wastewater Operator-in-Training - Buckingham Township. F/T w/benefits. The Water and Wastewater Operator-in-Training assists in the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of public water supply and wastewater treatment and collection systems in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) regulations. This position is designed for individuals seeking to obtain PA DEP Water and/or Wastewater Operator Certification and to progress toward independent operation under the supervision of the Water Superintendent/Wastewater Superintendent or the certified Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). Minimum Qualifications include: High school diploma or GED, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with acceptable driving record, ability to obtain PA DEP Water and/or Wastewater Operator Certification within required timeframes, ability to meet PA DEP operator experience requirements while employed, mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn treatment processes and regulatory requirements, ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to work from ladders including climbing into confined spaces such as manholes and tanks.
