This full‑time role is part of our Actuarial Student Program, designed to support your professional growth through exam support and hands‑on actuarial work. You'll collaborate with a team of actuaries and analysts to drive data‑driven insights, support financial reporting, and contribute to pricing and product development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for early‑career actuarial professionals who are passionate about insurance, data, and continuous learning.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAnalyze and query data from various sources to support both routine and ad‑hoc actuarial analysis\n\nPrepare monthly reserves and financial reports across multiple products\n\nAssist in developing experience studies and financial projections\n\nGenerate rates for underwriting systems using established models\n\nSupport regulatory filings, pricing of new products, and maintenance of actuarial databases\n\nCollaborate with cross‑functional teams including Finance, Claims, IT, Sales, and Underwriting\n\nDocument assumptions, processes, and results to meet audit and governance standards\n\nPresent findings and recommendations to actuarial leadership\n\nActively participate in the Actuarial Student Program, including exam progress and professional development\n\nMentor and support onboarding of new team members\n\nSkills, Abilities & Knowledge Required\n\nStrong technical skills in Microsoft Excel\n\nExperience with databases (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Access)\n\nProgramming knowledge, ideally including Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)\n\nExcellent written communication and business writing skills\n\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field\n\nCompletion of at least 2 actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA)\n\nPrior internship or work experience in an actuarial or data‑focused role is a plus\n\n$64,500 - $77,500 a year\n\nProtective's targeted salary range for this position is $64,500 to $77,500. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to job location, skills, and experience.
