This role is central to the agency’s digital transformation, ensuring that cloud solutions are scalable, resilient, and compliant with federal cybersecurity and data governance standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep cloud expertise, strategic vision, and a collaborative mindset to support mission-critical operations across classified and unclassified environments.\n\nTo be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.\nThe DoD OIG mission is to detect and deter fraud, waste, and abuse in DoD programs and operations; promote the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the DoD; and help ensure ethical conduct throughout the DoD. The DoD OIG keeps the Secretary of Defense and the Congress informed of fraud, waste, abuse, and program deficiencies identified through its oversight work. The DoD OIG’s administrative and criminal investigators, auditors, evaluators, and support staff operate globally, conducting investigations, audits, evaluations, and mission support activities to accomplish the DoD OIG’s mission. The DoD OIG, OCIO is responsible for installing, maintaining, operating, and supporting all DoD OIG Information Technology (IT) systems and communication capabilities for approximately 2000 end users and over 60 locations around the globe. Due to the independence of the DoD OIG, the OCIO provides the full spectrum of IT services necessary to support the OIG mission including database support, storage management, transition management, application services, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network transport, and service desk.\nThe Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nArchitect and implement secure cloud solutions using Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or other approved platforms\nLead cloud migration efforts, including application rehosting, refactoring, and modernization\nDevelop and maintain cloud governance frameworks aligned with DoD, NIST, and FedRAMP standards\nCollaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure integration and data flow\nDefine and enforce cloud architecture standards, tagging policies, and cost optimization strategies\nSupport RMF documentation, system accreditation, and compliance with DISA STIGs\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and support staff\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to support mission agility\nCreate and maintain architecture diagrams, deployment templates, and operational documentation\nReport regularly to Knowesis and government stakeholders on cloud posture, risks, and performance\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, information technology, Engineering or related technical field.\nMinimum 8 years’ IT experience with at least 5 years’ experience focused on cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and management\nMinimum 3 years’ experience managing hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure cloud services\nMinimum 3 years’ experience managing cloud infrastructure supporting 1,000+ users across multiple geographic locations\nMinimum 2 years’ experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform\nMinimum 2 years’ experience with cloud migration projects to include virtual machine migration from on-premises to Azure, and technical expertise in Azure cloud services\nMicrosoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)\nInformation Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, Engineering or related technical field preferred.\nPrior experience supporting federal or DoD environment\nAzure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)\nAzure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)\nInformation Technology Information Library (ITIL) v3 or later\nBenefits:\nHealth (PPO & HDHP) Paid Time Off\nCompany Paid STD & LTD, and Basic Life Insurance\n401k Company Match\nPaid Time Off\nMultiple Voluntary Products\nKnowesis is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals based on merit and qualifications.
