Our commitment to our Core Values—People First, Do Right, Go Beyond, Always Improve, & Let’s Go!—drives our success in partnership with our customers and suppliers.Position OverviewThe Warehouse Assistant Supervisor will perform a front line leadership role in support of Warehouse associates in assigned work areas will assist with supervising, planning, coordinating and control of all aspects of warehouse logistics, associate leadership, and maintenance; Ensure that all products are processed safely, efficiently and that they are complete, correct and on time. Form lead and implement associate involvement and other associate participation endeavors.Branch: Abraham Linc in Jessup, MDWork Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday | Tuesday | Thursday | Friday 3:00am-1:30pm (10 hour shift, 4 days a week)Essential FunctionsLeadershipActs as a primary contact to Warehouse Supervisor.Provides decision making guidance to all team members.Monitors warehouse procedures and uses corrective coaching when needed.Reports in writing any insubordinate behavior to Warehouse Supervisor.Provides input to Warehouse Supervisor for employee development purposes.Prioritizes and directs workflow.Acts as an example to other warehouse employees in attitude and performance.Troubleshoots and works to resolve shift issues.Works with management to provide training and support to new employees.Coordinates with team leads from other shifts to collectively achieve department goals.Ensures a great customer experience.Provides “Hands On” backup coverage for all warehouse positions.ReceivingProperly and accurately receives, labels, records, and stores all incoming product.Monitors product quality and notifies inventory controller of any issues.Inspects incoming merchandise for damages.Works quickly and efficiently to keep dock area clean and clear.Rotates stock when possible.Processes returns in a timely manner.PickingProperly records and stores all new rolls and pallets.Consolidates stock when necessary.Shipping (2nd shift)Ensures that trucks are properly loaded with correct product.Reports any truck maintenance issues to Transportation Supervisor.Properly secures shipments to prevent damage.Correctly labels and wraps all outgoing product.Warehouse GeneralPromptly assists all customers with a friendly attitude.Keeps warehouse floor clean and unobstructed at all times.Operates all equipment safely including rack systems, forklifts, and company vehicles.Promptly reports any damage to building, equipment, or inventory to Logistics Manager.Follows all corporate policies and procedures.Consistently strives to reduce costs and minimize waste.Manages vendors for equipment and warehouse repair/maintenance needs.Ensures special projects are completed.Reconcile vendor invoices.Troubleshoot tech equipment issues (scanners, computers, printers, etc.).Input light manufacturing orders.InventoryPerforms cycle count for 30 minutes daily or as directed by the Accounting department.Reconciles, verifies and investigates inventory discrepancies.Documents and reports adjustments needed to correct inventory.Manages and maintains “seconds” inventory.Labels and records all items placed in “seconds” for tracking purposes.Organizes and cleans the “seconds” area.Consolidates and maintains best practice inventory placement.Places low inventory level items together and in the proper locations.Rotates bulk inventory as necessary.Ensures all inventory remains tagged, printing and affixing labels as needed.Ensures a great customer experience.Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.Work Experience5 years warehouse experiencePrior forklift operation experiencePrevious supervisory experiencePrevious leadership experienceEducationHigh School diploma or equivalentMust be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instructionsPhysical Demand and Work EnvironmentAbility to pass a third-party administered drug screeningAttendance and punctuality are critical to this roleMust be available to work both day and evening shiftsAbility to use physical strength, manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination with stamina without becoming windedConsiderable amount of time spent lifting 50-100 lbs.Legally permitted to work in the United States.SkillsBasic knowledge of mathematics – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionBasic knowledge of general constructionWorking knowledge of small equipment operation
