The ideal candidate has experience building modern cloud applications and AI-enabled systems as part of high-performance teams. In this role you will ensure system reliability, drive automation, maintain compliance, and act as the on-site technical lead.\n\nKey Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)\n\nDesign, develop, test and maintain production capabilities across the Stronghold platform\nDesign and implement AI-enabled capabilities including RAG, information extraction, search, report generation and agentic-driven workflows\nDevelop modern web application functionality across front-end/back-end and supporting services\nReview code and technical designs from other developers providing actionable feedback focused on security, maintainability and simplicity\nMentor junior engineers and act as the on-site technical authority\nActive Secret clearance required, Top Secret preferred\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent\n\nRequired Skills, Experience & Abilities\n\n10+ years of relevant experience\n5+ years progressive relevant experience in software development, search engineering, or related discipline\nExperience with TypeScript and Node\nUnderstanding of lexical search, vector search, semantic search, metadata filtering, and hybrid retrieval.\nExperience working in secure or restricted environments\nStrong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience working with the Department of State\nExperience with OpenSearch vector search, ingest pipelines, index state management, aliases snapshots, and security features.\nHands-on experience developing and operating solutions using OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or a comparable search platform.\nExperience with document extraction technologies for PDF, Office, email, html, audio, video, or scanned content.\nExperience integrating with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure Blob Storage, network file shares, API\nActive Top-Secret clearance\n\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\n\nThe physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
