Come join our team!\nJob Summary\nThe Full Stack Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications across all layers of the technology stack, including front-end user interfaces, back-end services and APIs, and database systems. This role operates within Populus Financial Group’s IT Application Service Management organization and supports a complex environment that includes point-of-sale (POS) systems, IBM i (AS/400) back-end processing, and store-level operations across hundreds of retail locations. This position requires strong full stack development skills along with practical experience in POS infrastructure, store data retrieval, and IBM i environments, enabling immediate contribution to both new application development and ongoing operational support needs.\nMajor Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain full stack web applications and internal tools, encompassing front-end UI, back-end APIs, and database layers, using C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and related frameworks.\nBuild and maintain RESTful APIs and back-end services that integrate with POS systems, IBM i (AS/400) DB2 data sources, and third-party platforms (MoneyGram, Ingenico, Panini, bill pay providers).\nDevelop and maintain front-end user interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js); collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional, user-friendly screens.\nPerform store-level incident investigation and production troubleshooting, including pulling POS transaction logs, reconstructing transaction sequences, comparing store configurations, and isolating root causes.\nExecute SQL-based data extractions against IBM i DB2 (ACEDATA tables) and Microsoft SQL Server to support production troubleshooting, reporting, audits, and ad hoc analytical requests.\nAnalyze and validate store-level deployment configurations; detect missed deployments, configuration discrepancies, and DLL mismatches using WinMerge and configuration file comparison techniques.\nRetrieve and deliver store artifacts including check images, receipts, and transaction records from POS store drives (via UNC path) and IBM i IFS, supporting compliance, audit, and evidence collection requests.\nManage and maintain scheduled tasks and applications on the jump server; coordinate application deployments and service account transitions with DevOps.\nParticipate in code reviews, maintain version control discipline using Git and/or TFS, and contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and deployment processes.\nCollaborate with cross-functional IT teams (DevOps, Loans, Cards, Bill Pay, Sales Audit, Banking) for issue escalation, feature delivery, and knowledge sharing.\nMaintain and synchronize project files, SQL reference queries, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation to shared drives for team access.\nKey Competencies\nStrong analytical skills for diagnosing complex issues across POS, IBM i, and web application layers; comfortable working through ambiguous problems to resolution.\nEffectively document technical processes, communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and share knowledge across teams.\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent tasks independently and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.\nInteractions\nDirect Report Title - 0\nIndirect Report Title - 0\nOther Internal/External Interactions\nInternal: POS DevOps Team, Application Development Teams (Loans, Cards, Bill Pay), Sales Audit, IT Management, UX/Product Stakeholders, Compliance\nExternal: Store Operations personnel for urgent troubleshooting; third-party integration vendors (MoneyGram, Ingenico, bill pay providers) as needed\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
