Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nAECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to be based in Denver, Colorado or Salt Lake City, Utah office, to support mining projects and to help lead and build a team of structural engineers to support mining projects.\nThe ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have at least eight years of experience in the Structural Engineering field. Technical experience in structural design codes is also necessary. The candidate should be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting project schedules. Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as AutoCAD, STAAD, RAM Elements, Revit, etc., is expected. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in mining industry structural design would be advantageous.\nResponsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):\nProvides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.\nProvides project leadership in the areas of structural engineering and design, investigations, analysis on multi-disciplinary mining projects.\nServe as lead structural engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects.\nPerform and oversee advanced structural analyses, including 2D/3D finite element modeling (FEA).\nCoordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports and calculations on multi-discipline design efforts.\nWork with existing and potential clients to provide structural engineering and design solutions on mining projects.\nDevelop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice.\nProvides direction and mentoring to technical staff in completing project tasks.\nProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.\nProvides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.\nPresents complex technical solutions to clients.\nPerforms independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work.\nPlan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the structural designs of mining projects.\nProvides advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations.\nParticipate in site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.\nEnsure compliance with local and national building codes and standards.\nUtilize advanced structural analysis software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.\nStay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and innovative structural engineering practices.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nRegistration as a Professional Structural Engineer (SE).\nValid U.S. Driver’s License\nPreferred Requirements:\n10+ years or more of relevant experience\nProfessional Engineer (PE) in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in those states.\nExperience in advanced structural analysis software such as STAAD and RAM Elements.\nExperience in AutoCAD, Revit and Advanced Steel.\nExperience in finite element analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM).\nExperience with various building materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.\nUnderstanding building codes, standards, and seismic design principles.\nOn-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups\nMasters in structural engineering or related field of study\nMSHA Miner training\n\nAdditional Information\n\nSponsorship will not be provided for this role.\nRelocation is not provided for this role.\nWillingness to travel to domestic and international locations for projects.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
