Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on internal medicine. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Technical requirements 1. Performs all the principal duties and responsibilities of the medical assistant as required. 2. Ensures the medical assistants are trained effectively in all technical responsibilities. 3. Directs patient flow and assists staff to maintain patient flow. 4. Administers the MA daily tasks including MA assignment, room assignment, and other daily tasks. 5. Keeps providers informed of changes in assignments or patient flow that will affect working conditions. 6. Ensures exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and materials, coordinates with Manager regarding stocking and ordering. 7. Monitors rooms needed by provider, coordinates the number of rooms for providers during clinic hours. 8. Delegates work assignments to MAs as needed to smooth workload and promote efficient patient flow. 9. Assists MA manager/supervisor in coordinating MA scheduling. 10. Delegates workload during downtime, ensures that MAs are always engaged and productive. Patient care, customer service, and other universal working standards 1. Monitors and updates worklists and queues to ensure that no patients are subjected to unnecessary delays. 2. Regularly checks messages from EMR, e-mail and voicemail and responds promptly and professionally to all inquiries. 3. Attends to shared responsibilities in each work area, including answering phones, cleaning, stocking, and organizing common work areas, and assists with orientation and training of other employees as needed. 4. Communicates with other Care Team members when patients need services from those individuals. 5. Works closely with Practice Manager for additional tasks or ways to support. 7. Performs other tasks required in support of the medical providers and staff as assigned. Skills Proficient in medical terminology relevant to internal medicine. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and basic life support techniques. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, EPIC knowlage is preferred. A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding. Commitment to demonstrating personal integrity through punctuality, honesty, an ability to follow instructions, proper attention to detail in all work matters, and a willingness to learn from others. An ability to work independently, take initiative, and set priorities in accordance with the needs and mission of the clinic. Flexibility to adapt to changing or stressful conditions, including unanticipated changes to working schedules or locations. Adequate written and verbal communication skills for communicating coherently and professionally with patients and co-workers.
