Hospitality & Retreats Manager

What You'll DoAs the Hospitality & Retreats Manager, you'll play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences while leading retreat and housekeeping operations at Camp Eden Wood. You'll oversee daily operations, support staff development, and ensure guests feel welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure.Key responsibilities include:Lead, supervise, train, and mentor Housekeeping and Retreat team members.Schedule and manage day-to-day housekeeping and retreat operations.Partner directly with retreat leaders and guests to plan events and provide support before, during, and after their stay.Coordinate guest needs with internal departments, including Food Service, Facilities, and other camp teams.Lead guest experience initiatives and foster positive relationships with individuals and groups.Develop and maintain Camping Together relationships at the designated location.Provide hosting services and on-call leadership support for retreat groups.Assist with cleaning cabins, lodging facilities, and common areas, particularly during Summer Camp.Operate the camp Canteen during Summer Camp sessions, including sales tracking, payment collection, inventory management, and merchandise stocking.Perform administrative duties such as mail collection, ordering office supplies, and maintaining office organization.Communicate departmental updates and needs to leadership.Serve on committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Recreation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.At least two years of customer service experience.At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience.Previous cooking and kitchen experience.Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.Ability to build positive relationships with guests, retreat leaders, staff, and community partners.Ability to pass the organization's required background study.Must possess or be willing to obtain a Minnesota Department of Health Food Manager License.Why You'll Love ItMake a meaningful impact by creating memorable retreat and camp experiences for guests of all ages.Lead a team that helps provide hospitality, comfort, and connection in a beautiful camp setting.Enjoy a diverse role that combines guest services, event coordination, team leadership, and operations management.Work in a collaborative environment where relationships and service are highly valued.Spend time both indoors and outdoors while supporting a vibrant retreat and camp community.Skills You'll UseLeadership and team developmentGuest services and hospitality managementEvent planning and coordinationRelationship building and customer serviceOrganization and time managementCommunication and problem-solvingAdministrative and office managementInventory and retail operationsCross-department collaborationWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork both indoors and outdoors in a camp and retreat setting.Walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move throughout the workday.Frequently use hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle supplies.Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Travel to other locations as needed.Work with commercial equipment such as walk-in coolers/freezers, ovens, dishwashers, grills, and related kitchen equipment.Work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on retreat and camp needs.
