Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Trueline's client, a nationally recognized litigation firm with a strong reputation in complex civil defense matters, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its New York City team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role supports a busy toxic tort and products liability practice and offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators handling sophisticated defense matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.THIS IS A TEMP-TO-HIRE ROLE, NO EXCEPTIONS! IT IS ALSO ONSITE SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF THIS IS FEASIBLE!CIVIL DEFENSE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!What You'll Do as the Litigation Paralegal:Support attorneys with all phases of litigation from case inception through resolution or trialDraft, review, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responsesCoordinate document collection, review, and production, including e-discovery supportMaintain case files, litigation calendars, and court deadlinesAssist with deposition preparation, exhibit management, and trial supportConduct factual and legal research under attorney supervisionPrepare correspondence, status reports, and other case-related documentationCommunicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court personnelHelp manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced defense litigation environmentMust-Haves as the Litigation Paralegal:2+ years of litigation paralegal experienceExperience supporting defense-side liability mattersStrong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, and case managementAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectivelyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation support toolsNice-to-Haves as the Litigation Paralegal:Experience supporting toxic tort, asbestos, or products liability mattersTrial preparation experienceExperience with e-discovery platforms and document review workflowsParalegal certificate or equivalent experienceOur Client Offers:Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term growth potentialExposure to sophisticated, high-stakes litigation mattersCollaborative and team-oriented legal environmentOpportunity to work closely with experienced trial attorneysComprehensive benefits package upon permanent conversion
