This position ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all vertical transportation equipment while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal safety codes.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nPerform routine preventive maintenance on hydraulic, traction, and machine-room-less (MRL) elevator systems including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and testing\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime\nRespond to emergency service calls and elevator entrapments, ensuring passenger safety\nMaintain detailed service logs and documentation of all maintenance activities and repairs\nConduct safety inspections and tests in accordance with ASME A17.1 standards and local codes\nOrder and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment\nCoordinate with building management, tenants, and contractors regarding elevator service and planned maintenance\nIdentify opportunities for system improvements and modernization\nEnsure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols\nRequired Qualifications:\nValid elevator mechanic license or certification as required by state/local jurisdiction\nMinimum 10+ years of experience in elevator maintenance and repair\nComprehensive knowledge of elevator systems including controllers, motors, drives, governors, safety circuits, and door operators\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for both mechanical and electrical systems\nProficiency with test equipment including multimeters, meggers, and specialized elevator diagnostic tools\nExcellent communication skills for interacting with building occupants and management\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nAvailability for on-call emergency response rotation\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb ladders and work at heights, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.\n\nWork Environment:\nThis position involves working in elevator machine rooms, shafts, and pits with exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, heights, and varying temperatures.
