Cost Analyst
One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Cost Analyst to work on a 12 - month assignment in their facilities in Longmont, CO.ResponsibilitiesCreate, maintain, and distribute routine bi-weekly and monthly reports associated with all assigned construction project expenses.Prepare detailed ad-hoc reports.Will assist in cost analysis application database maintenance.Ability to facilitate new initiatives related to our cost control and analysis efforts.Creation of Project and Program cost reports, capturing the portfolio for supported Project Managers.Resource for troubleshooting cost issues.Will review monthly exceptions and errors in the SAP->Prism->EPM integration process.Create and manage budgets and monitor spending.Define, create, and maintain project work breakdown and cost breakdown structures, working closely with engineering team.Track and report up-to-date construction project costs, EACs, and variances.Track incurred and forecasted cost vs authorized funding and identify needed supplements, as necessary.Prepare reports to lead monthly accrual and reforecast meetings to update WES management teams and coordinate with accounting teams.Support the preparation of monthly accruals and forecasts for all managed projects.Create and maintain scope change log and ensure scope change process adherence.Participate in contractor selection process by providing feedback on contractor’s previous performance.Commit and take action to make sure every employee and contractor goes home safe every day.Exhibit WES’s core values of Servant Leadership, Empowerment, Customer Focus, Belief in Each Other, Integrity, and Positive Work Environment. Requirements Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience with upstream or midstream capital projects; other industrial construction acceptable.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Proficient with project management software applications, ideally Ares Prism and SAP, Primavera P6 a plus.Advanced skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.Extreme attention to details and data integrity.Able to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks and provide analysis.Desire to drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective cost controls.A fundamental knowledge of production, compression, pumping, treating, processing, and produced water disposal facilities and pipeline infrastructure is preferred.Understanding of industry safety principles and their application at a construction location.Ability to prepare work breakdown and cost breakdown structures based on project scope, in conjunction with the Project Manager.Competency in earned value management.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong work ethics.Ability to communicate analysis findings and required recovery plan activities to management through concise written reports and clear verbal/visual presentations.
