Developer Java / J2EE / Mainframe Integration (Hybrid)
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to support the Automated State Support Enforcement and Tracking System (ASSETS) project for the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA). The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise Java applications integrated with legacy mainframe systems.Key Responsibilities IncludeDesigning, developing, and maintaining enterprise Java/J2EE applicationsBuilding scalable backend solutions using EJB, Hibernate ORM, and JBoss Application ServerDeveloping and supporting SOAP/REST web services and document generation modulesIntegrating Java applications with legacy COBOL-based Unisys mainframe systemsDeveloping MVC workflows using Struts 2 for financial accounting, payment processing, and case intake systemsManaging Maven build configurations, dependencies, and deployment processesWriting unit and integration tests using JUnit to improve application stability and test coverageParticipating in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions and collaborating with Business AnalystsProviding troubleshooting, production support, technical documentation, and mentoring to technical teamsSupporting secure, compliance-driven government enterprise applications and modernization initiativesRequired Experience7+ years of experience with Java application development and enterprise software design7+ years of experience with Hibernate ORM integration and enterprise Java frameworks7+ years of experience with EJB 3.x and J2EE design patterns7+ years of experience integrating Java applications with legacy COBOL/Unisys mainframe systems7+ years of experience with Maven build management and dependency configuration7+ years of experience with Struts 2 MVC framework development7+ years of experience with JUnit testing and regression support5+ years of experience with government enterprise systems and compliance-driven workflowsExperience with Oracle databases, JBoss AS, Eclipse, SVN, and SonarQube
