The RL and Reasoning Team focuses on building reinforcement learning environments for AI systems that can learn to hack and defend software.\r\nJob Summary\r\nAs a Staff Engineer, you will build the infrastructure and tooling that transforms real-world vulnerability research into large-scale reinforcement learning environments used to train next-generation AI systems. You will design pipelines that ingest software projects, analyze them with Bugcrowd's Mayhem platform, and automatically construct training environments for frontier AI labs.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\n* Build high-performance systems that generate RL environments.\r\n\r\n\r\nDesign and maintain pipelines to ingest software projects, analyze them, and construct training environments.\r\n\r\n\r\nCollaborate with security research and AI teams to refine environment quality.\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills\r\nStrong background in systems engineering and reinforcement learning workflows.\r\nExperience with binary exploitation (buffer overflows, fuzzing, exploitation, x86/64).\r\nProficiency in Python and C; Rust is a plus.\r\nExperience with DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions), reproducible builds (Docker, BuildKit, Nix).\r\nUnderstanding of software vulnerabilities, fuzzing, or program analysis.\r\nExperience with build systems and large open-source codebases.\r\nComfort working with Linux systems and low-level debugging.\r\nExperience with benchmark environments (CTFs, SWE-bench, security challenges) is a plus.\r\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements\r\n* Remote, work-from-home 100% of the time.\r\n\r\n\r\nSitting or standing 50% of the time.\r\n\r\n\r\nCarry or move laptop as needed.\r\n\r\n\r\nADA Statement\r\nBugcrowd is committed to full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
