This role requires deep expertise across the full software development lifecycle, from system architecture to deployment, with a focus on data-intensive applications, performance optimization, and cross-platform integration. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments and can deliver high-impact solutions that support mission-critical operations.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nBackend & System Development\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems in Java, Python, Angular, Java Script, Go, or equivalent.\r\nArchitect and implement data integration solutions for structured and unstructured data.\r\nDevelop REST APIs and services for real-time and batch processing.\r\nMaintain modular software libraries with clean interfaces and reusable code.\r\nData Engineering & ETL\r\nBuild and optimize ETL pipelines using frameworks such as Elastic Search, Kafka, and Airflow.\r\nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases, plus cloud-native data services.\r\nEnsure high performance, scalability, and reliability in data workflows.\r\nIntegrate externally developed code into core software libraries.\r\nCloud & DevOps\r\nDeploy and maintain solutions across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).\r\nApply containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for automation.\r\nAdhere to configuration management and infrastructure standards.\r\nSoftware Development Lifecycle\r\nTranslate business requirements into technical specifications across data and application layers.\r\nMaintain code quality through testing, regression analysis, and reviews.\r\nInvestigate and resolve production issues to improve stability and data integrity.\r\nConduct full lifecycle testing following strict quality procedures.\r\nApplication & User Support\r\nProvide bug fixes, enhancements, GUI improvements, and access control updates.\r\nInstall, configure, and monitor applications to meet operational requirements.\r\nDeliver ad-hoc training and support to users.\r\nCollaboration & Quality Assurance\r\nPartner with configuration managers to integrate internal and external software solutions.\r\nEvaluate and recommend third-party vendors and partners.\r\nSupport development of standards, methods, and procedures for product release readiness.\r\nWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED\r\nEducation: BS in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience\r\nExperience: 10+ years\r\nSecurity Clearance level: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph REQUIRED\r\nLocation: Chantilly, VA - On Customer Site\r\nThe likely salary range for this position is $221,000 - $299,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
