This role is within the Technology department and sits at the center of McGee & Co.'s data and analytics evolution. The Senior Data Engineer owns the business intelligence tech stack and is responsible for ensuring clean, reliable, and well-governed data flows from source systems, including cloud infrastructure and ERP platforms, into the tools and environments that power decision-making across the organization. As McGee & Co. continues to migrate processes and reporting to Power BI and data analytics platforms across all departments, this role serves as the technical cornerstone of that transformation. Acting as a data leader, this individual drives best practices, ensures data and code quality, and makes significant contributions to architectural integrity and Business Intelligence initiative success.Duties & Responsibilities:Data Pipeline & Intergration DevelopmentDevelop and manage ETL processes using SQL Server, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Snowflake for efficient and scalable data integrationWrite code in C#/.NET and Python to optimize the performance and efficiency of the organization's IT platform and infrastructureLeverage managed integration platforms such as Fivetran and Celigo for connectivity with NetSuite and other operational systemsTroubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environmentsCloud Infrastructure & SecurityOwn the architecture and maintenance of the MS Azure environment, including Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure API Management, and related servicesManage storage, compute, and orchestration resources across Snowflake and AzureLeverage Azure DevOps and/or Git for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release managementProactively coordinate security-related best practices and solutions with IT security and agile delivery teamsAI EnablementPartner with business and operations stakeholders to design data foundations supporting AI use cases, including RAG pipelines, structured knowledge bases, and embeddings storageEvaluate and implement tools for connecting internal data to LLM-based workflows, including vector databases, chunking strategies, and metadata schemas Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and integration design principlesFamiliarity with data integration and exchange frameworks including JSON, XML, and EDIStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated ability to identify root causes and implement durable fixesAbility to document, evangelize, and guide adoption and implementation of standards across agile delivery teamsDemonstrated ability to take ownership of complex initiatives and drive them to successful completionStrong communication skills — able to translate technical decisions for non-technical audiencesExperience with Azure API Management and broader MS Azure environment developmentQualifications:Experience building data pipelines for AI/LLM applications (RAG, embeddings, vector stores)Exposure to API-based integrations and webhook-driven architecturesFamiliarity with modern data stack components such as dbt or DatabricksExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systemsBS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field7+ years in data engineering, integration development, or a closely related roleHands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSISProficiency in C#/.NET and PythonStrong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server and Azure SQLExperience with Azure DevOps and/or Git for source control and CI/CDBenefits: Competitive compensation + bonusesComprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, pet)Open PTO401k with 4% company match up to 6%Team Member discount at McGee & Co. + access to Team Member only warehouse salesOpportunity to be part of a vibrant, inclusive, and innovative teamMcGee is proud to be an equal opportunity employer - we see the beauty of celebrating our teams' differences, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
