Apply today to find out how you can become a part of our team.\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in the construction sector.\n\nBenefits:\nMedical\nDental\nVision\n401(k)\nLife Insurance\nPTO\nCompensation:\n$90,000 - $110,000 yearly DOE\nResponsibilities:\nThe ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems across a variety of construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards.\nDesign HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems for industrial construction projects.\nProvide engineering design and technical support for industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and energy efficiency.\nPrepare detailed engineering calculations, plans, and specifications.\nReview contractor RFIs, submittals, and provide technical review of project documents.\nCollaborate with client architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.\nCoordinate directly with CAD technicians and field members to provide reliable design support.\nConduct site inspections and provide support throughout the construction phase.\nEnsure all mechanical designs and installations meet applicable building codes and regulations.\nParticipate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.\nThis role supports sales in quoting, design development, and customer interactions.\nWillingness to perform other duties as deemed necessary.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).\nA Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.\nMinimum of 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.\nSpecific experience with ammonia refrigeration systems in industrial or cold storage environments is highly desired.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design software.\nSolid understanding of building systems and construction processes.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nAbout Company\n\nSMSI is dedicated to providing the highest quality mechanical services performed in an honest, dependable, and efficient manner.
