Our commitment to our vision of keeping our customers flying has earned RHC a variety of recognition from our customers.\n\nThe Sustaining Engineer is a member of the engineering team who is responsible for investigation and resolution of engineering issues that arise with our aircraft during manufacture or while aircraft are in service and ensures products meet customer requirements and quality expectations within given timelines and affordability targets.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nFor issues within service aircraft, conducts investigations to determine root cause and proposes resolutions including design, process, or specification changes\n\nImplements engineering changes to existing designs to address field issues, manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence and qualification, and product improvements\n\nReviews, researches, and conducts analysis leading to disposition of Material Review Records (MRRs)\n\nAssists with investigating and addressing Continued Operational Safety items\n\nEnsures issues which may affect flight safety are prioritized\n\nPropose changes to reduce the occurrence of MRRs\n\nContributes to the content of Service bulletins, Service letters, Kits, and Manuals.\n\nAnalyzes fleet and individual aircraft data to identify trends allowing for early detection and resolution of quality and service issues\n\nConducts Minor Change projects including designing, developing, integrating, and verifying structures, components, mechanical systems, and assemblies\n\nConduct analysis of loads and stress to inform design decisions\n\nCreate detail, assembly, and installation design definitions using CAD software\n\nIdentify, plan, and conduct tests for components, assemblies and aircraft in the laboratory, ground, and flight test environment as necessary to include test planning, conformity, instrumentation, test conduct, data analysis, and issue resolution\n\nValidate that designs meet customer expectations, design objectives, and the requirements of 14 CFR Part 27\n\nInterface with suppliers to identify solutions to problems, establish requirements, and ensure requirements are satisfied\n\nMaintain a presence on the factory floor and repair station to ensure rapid engineering response to issues\n\nReport project status, schedules, and risks\n\nDevelop processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the work\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field or equivalent professional work experience\n\nUnderstanding of civil aircraft certification requirements\n\nA strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, structures, and systems engineering concepts as applied to helicopters\n\nMust be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong problem-solving skills\n\nExcellent academic record\n\nDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\nTeam-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others\n\nAbility to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities\n\nAbility to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups\n\nDemonstrated leadership and communication skills to drive issues to closure and provide clear insight to company leadership\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nMaster’s Degree in a related engineering field\n\nPrevious experience conducting Postproduction, Product Support, and Manufacturing engineering activities\n\nFAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or ODA Unit Member (UM)\n\nWhat can a career at RHC offer you?\nWe offer our teams members opportunities for professional development, training, and learning.
