Essential Job DutiesThe Sustainability & Low Carbon Transition Advisory team is part of the Global Advisory team inside the Investment Banking & Finance Area at BBVA CIB. We advise clients on how the energy transition impacts strategy, valuation, risk, and access to capital (debt & equity), and we translate that into actionable investment banking solutions, including cleantech bankability, capital structuring, equity partnerships, commercial structuring advisory, project/asset-based finance, sustainable finance structuring). The candidate will contribute to client dialogue, pitches, and execution of mandates alongside senior bankers and product teams.List Major/Essential Job Duties:Understanding and development of financial modeling toolsManipulation of financial models to project financial statements and key credit metricsBuild high-quality client-ready presentations (pitch books, proposals, management presentations) translating complex analysis into clear, concise slides with strong story lining, charts and visualsMaintenance and improvement of analytical tools and templatesOral and written presentations for client marketing and internal purposesInteraction with other teams within the BBVA GroupClient meeting participation when practical Relationship Management:Support the senior managers with the origination and successful closing of new business opportunities, mainly investment banking, global markets and Sustainability product solutions, based on deep client segment expertise and strategic dialogue, in coordination with the CIB coverage and product partnersSupport the offering of a comprehensive market and financial advisory service to the clients, delivering tailored made investment banking ideas and recommendationsProvide sustainability expertise to the Client Coverage team and other lines of businessCollaborate with existing clients to deepen their engagement with sustainable finance products and servicesParticipate in committees of the business unitAdvisory roles:Participate as team member in the execution team for advisory mandatesSupport live transaction execution (debt/equity financing, M&A/JV processes) by coordinating workstreams, timelines, and deliverables across internal and external stakeholdersDraft and review transaction and marketing documents (e.g., teasers, confidential information memoranda, investor materials) ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the value propositionCoordinate and contribute to due diligence, including managing information requests and (when applicable) virtual data rooms and third-party advisorsHelp innovate and develop new sustainable financial products and services, and advisory to meet the evolving needs of clients and segments within the USSupport the managers of the team with the client interactions and presentations/materials needed based on the different services offered to BBVA clientsSkills:Proactivity to get things doneExperience in renewable related financingsStrong financial modelling skillsUnderstanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, cashflows and corporate finance valuationInterested in supporting the development of a strategic dialogue with clients on decarbonization technologies and specific financial solutions to clientsUnderstanding of Sustainability, Energy and Cleantech trends, concepts, regulation, reporting initiatives and banking products including sustainable finance alternativesAbility to participate in projects from different teams involving different areasAbility to excel in a fast paced, pressure orientated environment and deliver under tight deadlinesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Math or Engineering or similar gradeOver 2 years of professional experience in Energy, Cleantech and/or Infra for the financial sector (incl. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
