This role involves creating robust, scalable platform components while ensuring security, performance, and reliability across all AssetMark systems. Candidates must be able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and be close to our Concord, CA office.\r\nPlatform Development & Infrastructure Implement platform services, APIs, and infrastructure components independently.\r\nDevelop and maintain core platform capabilities including data services, authentication, and integration frameworks.\r\nHandle complex platform-level bug fixes and participate in incident remediation for foundational systems.\r\nWrite comprehensive tests for platform components and ensure high reliability standards.\r\nImplement secure coding practices with a focus on enterprise-grade security and compliance.\r\nAPI & Integration Design Contribute to technical specifications for platform APIs and service interfaces.\r\nImplement solutions for complex integration challenges between systems and external partners.\r\nDesign and build reusable platform components that serve multiple applications.\r\nIdentify and address performance bottlenecks in platform services.\r\nEvaluate and recommend technical approaches for platform-level challenges.\r\nData & Architecture Work with data modeling, master data management, and enterprise data governance.\r\nImplement canonical source-of-truth data systems and ensure data integrity.\r\nContribute to service-oriented architecture patterns and microservices design.\r\nSupport cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code principles.\r\nParticipate in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development.\r\nCollaboration & Enablement Work closely with application engineering teams to understand platform requirements.\r\nProvide technical guidance on platform service adoption and best practices.\r\nCollaborate with security and compliance teams on regulatory requirements.\r\nCommunicate platform capabilities and constraints to stakeholders.\r\nDocument platform components and integration patterns for broader team use.\r\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong proficiency in platform technologies (Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar).\r\nExperience with API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.\r\nKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).\r\nUnderstanding of database technologies, data modeling, and enterprise data patterns.\r\nExperience with message queues, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous processing.\r\nFamiliarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.\r\nUnderstanding of security best practices for enterprise platforms.\r\nKnowledge of financial services regulatory requirements (preferred).\r\nQualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.\r\n3–6 years of software engineering experience with a focus on platform or infrastructure development.\r\nExperience building APIs, services, or platform components.\r\nUnderstanding of enterprise integration patterns and service-oriented architecture.\r\nExperience with agile development methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.\r\nCompensation & Benefits Base salary range: $144,000 – $168,000.\r\nVariable incentive compensation and competitive benefits available.\r\nStandard benefits include 401(k) with 6% match, medical/dental/vision plans, HSA, paid time off, and hybrid work flexibility.\r\nLegal & Equal Opportunity Statement Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
