The Workforce Development Specialist will work under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nDisseminate information regarding workforce development programs, as well as special and supportive services.\nAssist clients with applications for employment, ensuring completeness, and with job searches, résumé preparation and other related activities.\nAssist employers in establishing accounts, using the job matching system and amending job posting information.\nInterview clients to assess and record information regarding training needs, education, experience, skills, interest and other relevant factors to determine clients' career development opportunities and eligibility of benefits.\nDetermine employers’ job requirements, match clients to current job openings and refer to qualified clients.\nMaintain case management records.\nMaintain or establishes working relationships with employers to verify satisfactory placements of clients.\nAdminister employment assessments and test instruments.\nAssist in developing marketing, instructional or training materials to distribute to internal and external clients.\nMay facilitate or assist in facilitating job readiness sessions and in conducting presentations to explain employment programs and services.\nMay assist in writing job postings at the request of employers.\nPerform related work as assigned.\nOperate a motor vehicle on public roads as required by the position.\nPerform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the position.\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience Requirements: Two years and six months of full-time qualifying experience in gathering information, interviewing, assisting with dissemination of program (public or private enterprises) information; or, in direct social work; in eligibility determination; or in workforce development issues and programs. Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of experience.\nAbility to clearly read, write, and communicate information to internal and external stakeholders.\nRequires computer proficiency and the ability to effectively operate standard office equipment.\nMaintain a valid driver's license and status as a qualified driver under the Company’s Vehicle Safety Guidebook standards.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nGeneral office environment with moderate noise levels. The position involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking or standing, in a busy environment with frequent unscheduled interruptions.
