As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.\n\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team Bastion, a teammate company.\n\nAs a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:\n\nDeveloping new cloud-native platform services spanning all three major cloud environments\n\nDeveloping best practices for cloud-native application development and promoting them within the organization\n\nAdministering NASA cloud networks and managing requests for deployment of COTS and Cloud Native applications into cloud environments\n\nWriting quality code, providing quality and engaged code reviews for peers\n\nWorking with Managed Kubernetes offering across all three major cloud providers\n\nIntegrating cloud managed AI and data services with other bespoke and open-source Kubernetes applications\n\nDeveloping best practices for cloud-native application development and promoting them within the organization\n\nIdentifying opportunities to abstract Prospective Project requirements and develop Enterprise-grade, multi-tenant Platform Services\n\nCollaborate with NASA security and compliance teams to ensure teams are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements\n\nWorking directly with NASA human spaceflight missions like Orion, Lunar Gateway, Artemis\n\nPerform other duties as required\n\nQualifications - External\n\nThis position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.\n\nRequisition Qualifications:\n\nTypically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.\n\nStrong experience with Kubernetes in production\n\nAbility to manage and use GitLab (preferably very proficient)\n\nHands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools\n\nObservability Monitoring tools such as Grafana and SuperSet\n\nProficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code utilizing Terraform for infrastructure automation and/or open source alternatives (OpenTofu)\n\nExtensive Linux experience (familiarity with Windows also preferred, but not required)\n\nExpert in at least one programming language (Go and Python is preferred)\n\nExperience with Python, SQL (and R is preferable)\n\nWorking understanding of Machine Learning Model Lifecycle management (is preferred)\n\nRequisition Preferences:\n\nSolution-oriented mindset, accepts feedback with enthusiasm\n\nEffectively communicates with team members: clear status updates to direct report, regularly establishes unanimous decisions with peers\n\nSelf-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills\n\nExperience architecting and building cloud-native applications\n\nDemonstrable success and confidence in owning the full project lifecycle\n\nGood instincts for identifying opportunities for abstraction\n\nBalances individual project development tasks at hand with overall platform and company goals\n\nWhy Join Our Team?\n\nClick on the below links to view just a small sample of all that we do!
