The Junior Buyer will assist the supply chain team in purchasing and material management. Responsibilities include tracking inventory levels, maintaining vendor relationships, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production needs, and adhering to budget requirements.Planning Support: Assist in analyzing data and supporting inventory level decisions to meet business objectivesSupplier Partnership: Support supplier communications, assist with subcontracts, and help build supplier relationshipsProcurement Excellence: Process and track purchase orders through ERP systems accurately and in a timely mannerProcess Optimization: Assist with configuration management activities and support implementation of revision changes & ECO’sQuality Assurance: Track supplier performance and delivery schedules, flagging issues and supporting improvement effortsDiverse Materials Management: Learn to source and manage diverse materials including electronics, circuit board assemblies, metalwork, plastics, and glasswareQualifications1+ years in purchasing and/or materials planning (internship or co-op experience welcome)Some exposure to or coursework in MRP, inventory management, and/or ERP systemsExposure to supplier management, cost awareness, and sourcing conceptsExposure to a manufacturing environment is a plus; pharmaceutical industry familiarity is a bonusBasic familiarity or willingness to learn technical document interpretation (drawings, specifications)Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of ExcelKey CompetenciesAnalytical Mindset: Comfortable working with data and developing analytical skills over timeProblem-Solving: Eager to tackle challenges; beginning to develop negotiation and vendor communication skillsCommunication: Exceptional interpersonal skills for internal and external relationshipsIndependence: Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and works well both independently and within a teamDetail-Oriented: Experience with Bills of Material and technical documentationCustomer-Focused: Service-oriented approach with internal customers and suppliersPersistent: Strong follow-up skills and tenacious attention to detailAdaptable: New product introduction experience preferred
