Senior Project Engineer
We are growing and need an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team.Summary Of ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning, managing and executing geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through construction. This role involves subsurface investigations, foundation design, slope stability analysis, earthwork recommendation and client coordination. Working with Project Managers, the engineer ensures technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and delivery within budget and schedule. Our largest markets currently are transportation and water/wastewater and we are expanding operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and oversee geotechnical field investigations (auger and SPT drilling, rock coring, sampling, CPT, test pits, etc.).Perform Engineering Analyses IncludingShallow and deep foundation designAxial and lateral capacity of deep foundationsDrivability of driven pilesBearing resistance of shallow foundationsSettlement calculationsSlope stabilityRetaining wall designGround improvementPavement designEarthwork and compaction specificationsInterpret laboratory and field test resultsPrepare detailed geotechnical reports, calculations, and construction recommendationsManage project budgets, schedules, and deliverablesCoordinate with clients, contractors, structural engineers, and regulatory agenciesProvide construction-phase services including site visits, foundation observations, and field issue resolutionReview and seal engineering documents (if licensed)Mentor junior engineers and technical staffEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsMinimum RequirementsM.S. in Civil/Geotechnical EngineeringActive PE license in GA, or ability to obtain a GA PE license within 6 months8+ years of Geotechnical experienceStrong written & verbal communication skillsIndependent problem-solver with excellent organizational skillsProfessionally work with colleagues, other departments and clientsSolid work ethicsSafety & Quality mindset Preferred RequirementsHeavy civil infrastructure portfolio (geotechnical engineering applied to transportation and water/wastewater markets).
