We are seeking an entry-level to experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nEmbedded Software Engineer\nThis position is associated with the design and development of embedded software applications that control machine operations and functions used in heavy equipment, power systems, and off-highway vehicles. Development methods include C/C++ programming language and Model Based Software Design. Testing methods include bench testing, computer simulation testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and machine testing.\nResponsibilities\nFeature by feature embedded software development per Software Requirements Documents for applications that control machine and vehicle functions.\nIntegration of software in a multi-developer team environment using modern software development practices.\nFunctional and integration testing prior to hand-off to software test and evaluation groups.\nDevelopment and release status tracking using Agile development methodologies.\nCreation and support of software used for prototype and production machine programs.\nTroubleshoot and provide solutions for issues discovered during software development and validation activities.\nCreation of software design documentation.\nDesign, develop, and modify software features and libraries used in embedded control systems.\nWork with software architects and developers to research and investigate project-specific applications.\nDevelop and execute test cases to perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.\nCollaborate with electrical, systems, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product integration.\nSupport root cause investigations related to software and machine performance concerns.\nRequirements\nBS in Software, Computer, Electrical, or other relevant Engineering degree.\nExperience with C or C++ development.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nSelf-motivated, quick learner, with an any-problem-can-be-solved attitude.\nGood organizational and time management skills.\nAbility to identify needed actions and act to resolve issues.\nAbility to communicate technical information effectively.\nAbility to thrive in a team environment.\nMust have a valid Driver's License.\nDesired Attributes\nExperience with CAN J1939 & LIN communication protocols.\nExperience with Simulink/Matlab Model Based Software Design.\nExperience with GitHub or similar version control systems.\nGeneral machine knowledge of vehicles, mobile equipment, or heavy equipment.\nAble to read/understand electrical schematics.\nExperience with embedded controls or machine control systems.\nExperience with Agile software development processes.\nDesire to work in an engineering environment focused on advanced machine control technologies.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $75,000-$115,000 – Commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
