In addition to working in a team environment with little supervision, the technical assistant must cooperate and work with others, share information, take the initiative to improve the process, and solve problems.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nAssist with all press operations during make‑ready, run, and clean‑up as work processes require, including opening paper, operating splicers, taping on rolls, using web press, hooking up and cleaning ink pumps, monitoring ink viscosity, mounting and setting plates. Take direction from press operator or team leader and assist with catching and packing product when necessary.\n\nUnderstand and follow order specifications and tolerances by reading docket and specification sheets.\n\nPerform make‑ready, run, adjust, clean‑up, and maintenance of imaging systems to ensure a quality product. Learn and stay updated on all imaging systems.\n\nContinuously inspect product and troubleshoot imaging and press equipment to ensure product meets customer specifications.\n\nOperate CRT to set up imaging programs and make changes as necessary according to procedures.\n\nPerform imaging and press paperwork and follow necessary consumable maintenance and productivity procedures.\n\nEnsure preventative maintenance (PM) is done on proprietary imaging equipment daily.\n\nKeep press and surrounding work area clean and neat at all times.\n\nWork with other team members and departments to reduce make‑ready and increase operating efficiencies.\n\nComply with all safety rules, regulations, and use guards on machines when in operation.\n\nFollow safety, production, recycling and other procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment.\n\nPerform all other duties as assigned.\n\nResponsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.\n\nQualifications\n\nGood basic math and measurement skills.\n\nStrong mechanical skills and ability to read, comprehend, and visually inspect materials for quality and specifications.\n\nAbility to discriminate colors and compare to specifications.\n\nAbility to lift under 50 pounds frequently.\n\nWillingness to cross‑train and perform duties of finishing and press operations.\n\nAbility to train on 1st Shift.\n\nPC experience desirable; basic understanding of Windows necessary.\n\nAdditional Information\nThe salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $24.15 to $38.00 per hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors, including relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and/or stand‑by pay.
