We are seeking an experienced CMM Programming & Metrology Engineer to establish and standardize the inspection methodologies, programming standards, and dimensional measurement systems that will enable consistent, repeatable manufacturing across our growing production network.\nThis role extends far beyond day-to-day CMM programming. The successful candidate will become the enterprise technical authority for coordinate metrology, responsible for developing inspection strategies, defining programming standards, mentoring site personnel, and creating scalable processes that ensure dimensional consistency regardless of where a part is manufactured.\nWorking closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, and franchise partners, this individual will help build the metrology foundation, standards and inspection capabilities that enable consistent manufacturing in supporting Isembard's vision across an expanding global production network.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnterprise Metrology Leadership\nDevelop and maintain enterprise standards for CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and metrology.\nEstablish standardized methodologies for inspection planning, program development, validation, approval, and revision control.\nCreate repeatable programming standards that can be deployed consistently across all Isembard manufacturing locations.\nDevelop best practices for first article inspection, production verification, capability studies, and process validation.\nDrive standardization of metrology processes, work instructions, and inspection documentation throughout the manufacturing network.\nCMM Programming & Inspection\nDevelop, validate, and optimize CMM programs using Modus and other leading CMM software platforms.\nDefine robust inspection strategies utilizing CAD models, engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.\nCreate highly automated, repeatable inspection programs that minimize operator intervention while maximizing measurement reliability.\nValidate measurement uncertainty and ensure inspection repeatability and reproducibility.\nSupport new product introduction through inspection planning and measurement strategy development.\nGD&T Technical Leadership\nServe as the organization's technical expert for ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.\nInterpret complex engineering drawings and translate functional requirements into effective inspection strategies.\nProvide technical guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and quality personnel on GD&T interpretation and application.\nDevelop internal training materials and standards to improve organizational GD&T competency.\nNetwork Capability Development\nBuild and maintain enterprise inspection libraries, programming templates, and reusable measurement routines.\nEvaluate and standardize metrology equipment, software, and inspection technologies across the network.\nSupport deployment of new manufacturing sites by establishing dimensional inspection capability and training local personnel.\nDevelop metrology governance including program review, approval, validation, and periodic verification processes.\nMetrology Operations\nAnalyze dimensional inspection results and provide technical recommendations for manufacturing process improvement.\nSupport root cause investigations involving dimensional nonconformances.\nEnsure CMM systems remain calibrated, maintained, and capable of meeting measurement system requirements.\nCoordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, software updates, and hardware support.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead initiatives to improve inspection efficiency, repeatability, and measurement capability.\nEvaluate emerging metrology technologies including optical scanning, vision systems, laser measurement, structured light, and automated inspection.\nSupport implementation of statistical process control and measurement system analysis (MSA).\nDrive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within inspection operations.\nLeadership & Mentoring\nMentor and develop CMM programmers, inspectors, and quality personnel throughout the organization.\nDeliver training on CMM programming, inspection methodology, and GD&T.\nFoster a culture of technical excellence, standardization, and continuous learning.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metrology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum 5 years of advanced CMM programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.\nDemonstrated experience developing complex automated CMM inspection programs.\nStrong working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.\nExperience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.\nAbility to travel up to approximately 25% in support of network deployment and standardization initiatives.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExtensive experience programming Renishaw Modus.\nExperience with PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, NX CMM, Calypso, or similar programming platforms.\nExperience with Renishaw REVO systems and fixed scanning probe technologies.\nGDTP (Y14.5) Technologist or Senior Certification preferred.\nExperience using CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA.\nExperience developing standardized inspection methodologies across multiple manufacturing locations.\nExperience establishing enterprise metrology or quality systems.\nStrong understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge R&R, uncertainty analysis, and statistical methods.\nExperience implementing AS9100 quality management systems.\nKnowledge of machining processes including milling, turning, grinding, and additive manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with SPC, capability analysis, and advanced quality tools.\nKnowledge, Skills & Competencies\nExpert understanding of dimensional metrology principles.\nAdvanced knowledge of GD&T interpretation and application.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving
