This individual will lead a squad of Data Engineers to deliver high-quality, high-velocity customer data pipelines while maintaining existing ones. The Data Engineering Lead owns end-to-end delivery including project management, data quality, and timelines and is accountable for both team output and their own individual contributions. This role requires consistently high standards in both coding and execution.\r\nWhat You'll Be Doing Collaborate with the Implementation team and Data Analyst to review and own DE requirement writeups, ensuring they fully address data needs discussed in implementation calls\r\nCommunicate timelines for deliverables to unblock Data Engineers for ETL pipeline development\r\nProactively flag risks to timelines or quality to stakeholders and project managers\r\nLead backlog grooming for implementation-related tickets\r\nEnsure team cross-coverage by making sure the DE Lead and assigned Data Engineer understand the full ETL flow, with at least two additional engineers familiar at a high level\r\nConduct thorough peer reviews and DE UATs after initial UAT completion\r\nDesign and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt, including macros, incremental models, and dbt tests\r\nWork with QA and CSA teams to resolve post-UAT issues and update the DE UAT checklist\r\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and promote best practices and coding standards\r\nIdentify and escalate inefficiencies within and across teams\r\nSupport project management and provide leadership to peers as needed\r\nAuthor and support high-quality technical documentation, assisting junior engineers in doing the same\r\nCollaborate with the DE Manager to report on DE contractor performance issues\r\nWho You Are and What You Bring 6+ years working with data in production environments\r\nProven ability to lead a small team (up to 3 engineers)\r\nTrack record of building automated ETL workflows using Python and dbt SQL\r\nHands-on proficiency with modern data technologies and comfort leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity\r\nStrong skills in data processing, validation, cleaning, and debugging across complex datasets\r\nDemonstrated success building production-grade dbt pipelines (macros, incremental and Python models, and testing)\r\nDeep, demonstrable understanding of healthcare and healthcare claims data\r\nComfort working with large-scale datasets (10GB+)\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\r\nNice to Have Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, DynamoDB, Batch, and Step Functions\r\nHands-on knowledge of Snowflake\r\nStrong data modeling skills for reporting and business intelligence solutions\r\nRemote Work Requirements An established private work area that ensures information privacy\r\nA stable high-speed internet connection for remote work\r\nThis role is remote, but you will be required to come to on-site meetings multiple times per year.
