Also assist in production and maintenance of par levels of pastry and dessert with proper rotation of products and maintain highest cleanliness and hygiene standard in the pastry and bakery section.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nResponsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, cookies, cakes, breads, creams, simple syrups, amenities, and special request items.\nMaintain complete knowledge of correct use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.\nCheck production schedule.\nEstablish priority items for the day.\nPrepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards.\nInform a manager of any supplies that need to be requisitioned.\nInform the General Manager of any foreseeable shortages before items run out.\nMaintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Common Bond requirements.\nMinimize waste.\nMaintain a clean and sanitary work environment.\nAssist with receiving order and rotation of raw ingredients and back stock levels.\nKnowledge of production in pastry kitchen.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nMaintain uphold the standard of a professional restaurant image, including kitchen cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.\nA Food Handler’s Certification where required by local and state health code regulations.\nMust always be able to work an 8-hour shift standing up.\nFlexibility to work any shift needed.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.\nFamiliarity with baking and proofing products including croissants, scones, and cinnamon rolls.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nCreativity, culinary aptitude and a passion for working with food.\nAbility to learn quickly.\nAbility to understand and carry out oral & written instructions and request clarification if needed.\nAbility to work as part of a team and cultivate a culture of teamwork.\nAbility to build and maintain relationships.\nAbility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.\nReports to: Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, General Manager\nIn every city, village, and town the “common bond” that everyone shares is the love of good food.
