Providing leadership to the Accounting Dept and serving as steward for all situations that may arise from the Accounting Dept. There is one direct report of Accounting Manager and 5 indirect reports of the Accounting Staff. This is a working manager role and will be responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations to support the month-end close process.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFinancial Management:\n\nProvide support to the Accounting manager for financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.\n\nMaintain existing and develop new financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.\nPrepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.\nMonitor and analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.\n\nManage the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities.\n\nFinancial Reporting and Analysis:\n\nPrepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for executive management, providing key insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.\n\nConduct financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business planning to support strategic decision-making.\nDevelop, monitor and report on key financial metrics, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.\n\nCollaborate with Accounting Management to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance reports for the accounting team.\n\nTeam Leadership and Development:\n\nLead Accounting manager and provide mentorship to entire team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\n\nProvide guidance and training to staff on financial processes, systems, and best practices.\nAble to lead through influence\n\nPromote a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with the company's core values.\n\nCompliance and Risk Management:\n\nEnsure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax filings, payroll laws, and financial reporting standards.\n\nManage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth audits and regulatory filings.\n\nAssess and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate controls and safeguards.\n\nEmployee Ownership Development\n\nESOP Administration : Responsible for overseeing the administration of the ESOP. Maintaining accurate records of participants' accounts, tracking their vested interests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing ESOPs. Coordination with external ESOP trustees, third-party administrators, and legal advisors to ensure smooth operation and adherence to the plan's rules and guidelines.\n\nValuation and Financial Analysis : Responsibility for coordinating with independent valuation experts to determine the fair market value of the company's stock. Perform financial analysis and provide insights into the financial impact of the ESOP on the company's balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.\nCommunication and Employee Education : Effectively communicate the purpose, benefits, and mechanics of the ESOP to the employee owners. Prepare educational materials and conduct employee meetings or training sessions to ensure that employees understand the value of their ESOP holdings, and the vesting schedule.\nCompliance and Reporting : Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to ESOPs is of utmost importance. You would need to stay updated on relevant laws, such as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) in the United States and ensure that the ESOP plan is designed and operated in compliance with these regulations. Additionally, you would be responsible for preparing and filing required reports, such as the annual Form 5500 filing and coordinating with external auditors to conduct audits of the ESOP plan.\nFinancial Impact Analysis : The ESOP process can have significant financial implications for the company. You would be responsible for analyzing the financial impact of the ESOP on the company's cash flow, profitability, and shareholder equity.
