About The RoleOur beauty client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join their Corporate Payroll team within a centralized People Services function. This role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll tax accuracy, compliance, and employee support across a complex, multi-state environment.This is a highly analytical and hands-on role ideal for someone with deep payroll tax experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Tax Processing & ComplianceManage all aspects of payroll tax processing and compliance in a multi-state environmentEnsure accurate tax withholding, taxable wages, and reportingInterpret and apply federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsReconciliation, Audits & InvestigationsPerform payroll tax reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy and complianceInvestigate and resolve discrepancies across systems (e.g., payroll and tax platforms)Review and respond to tax notices and compliance inquiriesAudit and reconcile W-2s and employee pay statementsSupport quarterly and year-end processes, including amendments and W-2c correctionsSystems & Data ManagementMaintain and validate payroll data across systemsPerform testing on pay codes, system configurations, and enhancementsSupport setup of new tax types and jurisdictions as neededEmployee & Stakeholder SupportServe as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on payroll tax mattersRespond to employee and leadership inquiries related to payroll taxes within defined SLAsProvide guidance on tax withholding, taxable wages, and payroll policiesQuality Assurance & Process ImprovementConduct quality reviews of payroll team outputs and provide coaching as neededIdentify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiencyParticipate in internal and external audits as requiredWhat You BringRequired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of payroll tax experienceExperience supporting a large, multi-state employer environmentStrong knowledge of payroll tax calculations and compliance requirementsExperience with:GarnishmentsSalary prorationsOverpayment calculations and recoveryShort-term disability calculations (including offsets)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office toolsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven workloadsAbility to work onsite and maintain a flexible schedule to support multiple time zonesPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degreeCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)Experience with ADP Vantage Payroll and Time platformsWhy This RoleOpportunity to join a centralized People Services function supporting a large, complex organizationHigh-impact role ensuring compliance and accuracy at scaleCollaborative, fast-paced environment with strong ownership and visibilityClient DescriptionGlobal beauty company specializing in cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and fragrance.
