The Software Developer position is a mid-level role responsible for design, engineering and implementation of new features within the company’s managed networking product and other product offerings.\nAdditionally, the Software Developer will provide maintenance and support for existing products and software services.\nGeneral Duties and Responsibilities\nPerforms product software engineering, software defect correction and verification, release testing, and beta support on network/systems software projects which may require research and analysis.\nMay assist in performing on-site client work. Operates under close supervision.\nReports to the Development Team Lead.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPerforms maintenance and enhancement of existing network/systems software modules.\nPrepares technical documentation of software components.\nEstablishes technical proficiency in design, engineering, implementation and unit testing.\nStrives to increase application and industry knowledge.\nInterfaces and partner with other Momentum personnel when resolving customer issues\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree in a technical discipline; may require additional training in skills to fulfill the basic responsibilities of the position.\nMinimum of two (2) year experience in Software Engineering/Developer role\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nWorking knowledge of software engineering and development principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.\nWorking knowledge in agile software development methodology, design, engineering and implementation.\nStrong analytical and design skills within complex integrated products.\nAdvanced understanding of development process (Software Development Life Cycle), including specification, documentation and quality assurance best practices.\nAbility to learn how business issues impact overall project plans.\nStrong written and oral communication skills. A team player attitude with the desire and effort to hold her/himself and others to high standards of quality and productivity.\nThe desire to continuously learn and improve his/her knowledge and skills.\nTechnical Knowledge\nStrong knowledge of Java 11.\nModerate to strong experience with technology frameworks, tools and middleware including but not limited to: Tomcat, JMS, Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Maven and or Ant, JUnit, Mockito, SVN/Git, Continuous Integration platforms CruiseControl/Bamboo.\nExperience with web-based technologies (preferably React, TypeScript, CSS)\nExperience with XML and JSON technologies including binding tools APIs, schema design, and Web Services frameworks (preferably REST).\nExperience with basic UNIX/Linux Open Systems (UNIX/LINUX) administration a plus.\nModerate knowledge of SQL and at least one Linux/Unix-based major RDBMS (MS SQL Server/MySQL/Oracle).\nExperience in OSS/BSS or the Telecom industry a plus.\nExperience developing with or extensive/ knowledge of network communications/data protocols such as SNMP, Telnet, TCP/IPDHCP, TFTP, DNS a plus.\nJob Conditions\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
