A strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this role is intended to streamline all budgeting, payroll and financial reporting processes. The Controller produces thorough financial-status reports for senior leadership to help improve operational efficiency and completed scheduled audits to support compliance.\r\nSupervisory Responsibilities\r\n\r\nOversees the daily workflow of the department;\r\nProvides constructive and timely performance evaluations;\r\nReviews and approves time off requests, schedule change request, etc.;\r\nHandles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy;\r\nAssists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring and organizing training for new staff in the department;\r\nOversees employee workload, assigns daily tasks and projects and oversees progress;\r\nManages finance, tax and accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.\r\n\r\nDuties/Responsibilities:\r\n\r\nEstablishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions, budget preparation and audits;\r\nLeads inter-company transactions and relationships (including reconciliation & month-end review/balancing);\r\nGuides all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll funding;\r\nOversees payroll, tax cost and accruals (Standard Payroll Cost/Accrual) - will support with understanding the PEO Financials;\r\nLeads financial consolidations;\r\nCompletes corporate tax analysis with financials;\r\nUnderstands and communicates current cash flow and budget status;\r\nCompletes forecasting & budgeting analysis;\r\nCompleted audits as a CPA with external firm, specifically for Publicly Traded companies;\r\nMaintains audit compliance and requirements for SEC and IRS reporting/filing;\r\nManages the production of, and monthly monitoring of, the annual budget and forecasts;\r\nManages the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time;\r\nPrepares cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals while handling daily cash management;\r\nCompletes month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheets, reconciles accounts and handles G/L analysis;\r\nDevelops processes and procedures for cash management and all other functions of the accounting and finance division;\r\nEvaluates, implements and streamlines policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies;\r\nWorks closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective;\r\nPresents monthly financial reports to executive committees and partners;\r\nAssures client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team;\r\nAdvances Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation;\r\nPerforms other related duties as necessary or assigned.\r\n\r\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\r\n\r\nSkillful in analytical, quantitative, and social skills;\r\nKnowledge of US GAAP;\r\nAdvanced proficiency in QuickBooks;\r\nAble to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds;\r\nOutstanding technology, analytics and management experience required;\r\nAttentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks;\r\nSelf-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills;\r\nSuperlative communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader;\r\nThorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations;\r\nCan competently manage multi-disciplinary/various industry finances.\r\n\r\nEducation and Experience\r\n\r\nBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field;\r\nFive or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager;\r\nProfessional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) Preferred;\r\nIndustry Accounting experience in - managing financials in Wholesale, Manufacturing, PEO, Hospitality & Accounting Bookkeeping services;\r\nBanking Industry experience desired;\r\nAccounting experience in publicly traded company a plus.\r\n\r\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\r\n\r\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard;\r\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work;\r\nLight to moderate lifting may be required;\r\nRegular, predictable attendance is required;
