Central Illinois Security (CIS) is an established Alarm Installation and Monitoring Company. We have an immediate opening for a Technician to work onsite in Springfield, IL.\n\nYou will service, maintain, or repair systems and equipment for security, fire, card access, CCTV wiring, home automation, and video/audio conferencing. You will also ensure that your work is in accordance with relevant codes. If you are a team player who is looking to work for a company that provides long-term stability and is not afraid to work hard, we want to talk to you!\n\nThe compensation package includes hourly wages + paid overtime, paid time off, company vehicles, expense reimbursement, full benefits, 24-hour onsite health club, and 401k matching.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nExamine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation.\n\nTest backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions.\n\nMount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.\n\nService, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.\n\nFeed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.\n\nAdjust the sensitivity of units based on room structures and manufacturers’ recommendations using programming keypads.\n\nTest and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.\n\nDrill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors.\n\nDemonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.\n\nPrepare documents, such as invoices or warranties.\n\nConsult with clients to assess risks and determine security requirements.\n\nKeep informed of new products and developments.\n\nMount raceways and conduits and fasten wires to wood framing using staplers.\n\nQualifications\n\nTwo years of experience in Security Systems, Fire Alarms, CCTV, or Card Access.\n\nValid driver’s license.\n\nSuccessfully pass a background screening and drug testing.\n\nMust be able to lift cable spools weighing 30 pounds.\n\nFlexible to work some evenings and weekends.\n\nNetworking experience would make you a stronger candidate.\n\nA valid Perc card would make you a stronger candidate.\n\nYou must have permanent authorization to work in the USA - no visa sponsorships are available.\n\nEEO Statement\nCIS is an equal-opportunity employer.
