Experience a workplace where safety, efficiency, and meaningful personal connections define every day, enriching both our teammates and the communities we serve.\r\nNucor supports its teammates with top-tier benefits like Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability Insurance, 401K and Roth accounts, Profit sharing, Pay-for-performance bonuses, Paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement, Stock program, Scholarships and more.\r\nBasic Job Functions:\r\nSUMMARY: This position is responsible for moving parts and materials throughout the warehouse and delivering to inventory locations or departments, either manually or utilizing equipment such as forklifts.\r\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\r\nAssist receiving and steelcut/weld departments with movement/staging of material as needed.\r\nLook over daily orders and supply production area with required materials from inventory.\r\nLoad materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, racking systems, and manufacturing areas.\r\nIdentify and label materials with sales order and dimensions/part number and record their locations in the warehouse and on shelves to accurately maintain inventory locations and counts.\r\nAssist with organizing and re-organizing inventory to ensure that space is maximized to its fullest potential and the most critical items are stored properly and in correct locations.\r\nPerforms a maintenance check daily on the equipment prior to its use and documents.\r\nOperates forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.\r\nAssists in performing and reporting cycle counts.\r\nCompliance with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines and assists with overall warehouse cleanliness including garbage/cardboard clean up.\r\nParticipate in quality assurance checks of parts and materials.\r\nSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.\r\nMinimum Qualifications:\r\nExcellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.\r\nHigh attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.\r\nPrevious forklift certification recommended and experience with pallet jacks and forklift required for material handling.\r\nPrevious experience with SAP or other inventory management system recommended.\r\nMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.\r\nKnowledge of Rytec parts recommended.\r\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.\r\nAbility to write simple correspondence.\r\nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other employees of the organization.\r\nAbility to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.\r\nAbility to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.\r\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.\r\nAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.\r\nAbility to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
