Heavy on instrument.Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprint schematics and testing specifications. Must have some knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. Other duties may be assigned. Plant Maintenance experience preferred. Heavy on instrument.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot instrumentation equipment issues, identify problems and manage solutions. Systems and equipment include but are not limited to: Industrial Waste Treatment instrumentation systemsPerforms preventive, corrective and condition based maintenance to maximize instrumentation equipment uptime across facilities utilities system. Instrumentation equipment include but are not limited to: Pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, level detection equipment, valves, positioner's, chemical feed controllers and telemetry systems.Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols during all operationsUse root cause analysis tools to identify permanent solutions for recurrence failures causing equipment downtime.Provide technical support during commissioning and start up for new instrumentation equipment, installation, configuration and calibration.Understands interactions with other departments in activities such as maintenance schedulingIdentifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input with solutionsInterprets issues/questions regarding schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plansInteract actively with stakeholders and departments on work planning and coordinationMentors/trains lower level technicians.Document all work order and calibration systems.Develop and maintain SOPs using technical expertise and in conformance with standards.Decides which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacementMay participate on cross-functional teamsMay conduct and/or oversee routine inspections and investigationsInterprets complex data from equipment, processes etc.Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertiseRegular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelinesAdhere and enforce safety rules, follow safe procedures and guidelines.Support plant operation during off-hours as neededCompetencies/Experience Needed:Advanced electro mechanical knowledgeMaintains confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary informationAble to work in a team environmentUnderstands manufacturing systemsEffectively communicates via verbal/written means to immediate team and other SAS departmentsAdvanced knowledge of relevant SAS systemsHas advanced knowledge of relevant software tools (i.e., Programmable Logic Controller, Microsoft etc.)Ability to work flexible hours as necessaryIntermediate knowledge in relevant code regulationsAbility to work independently within the broad scope of an objectiveIntermediate knowledge of mentoring, coaching and leading groups/peopleMay require the ability to maintain a state license as necessary (i.e., journeyman)Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.Required Education and Experience:High School Diploma or technical school certification preferredTypically requires 8-15 years of experienceMay require trade knowledge in a specialized fieldTraining in industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, computerized controls, hydraulics and related areas.Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of analog instrumentation systems and SCADA systems.Preferred Education and Experience:High School Diploma or technical school certification preferredTypically requires 8-15 years of experienceSemiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferredMay require trade knowledge in a specialized fieldComputer ? Based Work & Technical Proficiency:- The role involves extensive use of computers for data entry, documentation, analysis, and internal communication.Candidates must be comfortable and proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) and able to learn new office applications quickly.- Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (Computer?Aided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence is required for daily task management, issue tracking, and collaboration.Certifications/ Licenses: NCCER, TDLR Electrical License a plus and valid IDExperience: Maintenance - Instrumentation Technician (8 plus years Journeyman experience) Plant Maintenance experience preferred.
