These two hires will work closely together day-to-day while being mentored by a small team of experienced senior engineers.\nThis role is designed for someone who:\nHas a solid technical foundation\nEnjoys writing code and automation , not just clicking in consoles\nIs comfortable working with version-controlled codebases (Git)\nWants to learn how real production SaaS infrastructure works\nIs excited by infrastructure as code, scripting, and operational problem-solving\nIs looking to grow into a strong mid-level operations or platform engineer\nYou will not be thrown in alone — but you will be expected to learn quickly, ask good questions, and take increasing ownership over time.\n\nWhat You’ll Work On\nYou’ll be part of the team responsible for operating Voyant’s AWS environments, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills grow.\nOver time, you will:\nHelp operate and maintain production AWS environments used by real customers\nWrite and maintain automation and infrastructure code stored and reviewed in Git\nContribute to our Infrastructure as Code stack (primarily AWS CloudFormation)\nBuild and improve deployment and operational tooling using Jenkins, Python, and Bash\nWork extensively in Linux environments running Java-based applications\nDebug and improve automation when things don’t behave as expected\nAssist with maintenance activities such as AMI updates, DR testing, and environment upgrades\nCollaborate with senior engineers to improve reliability, security, and scalability\nLearn how to safely operate in security-sensitive, audited production environments\nAs you grow, you’ll begin to:\nOwn small operational projects end-to-end\nWrite tooling that other engineers rely on\nTroubleshoot real production issues using logs, metrics, and code\nParticipate in an on-call rotation (only after training and ramp-up)\n\nTechnologies You’ll Learn and Use\nYou do not need to be an expert in all of these on day one.
