Together, we advance your career.\nResponsibilities:\nTHE ROLE:\nAMD is looking for talented, detail-oriented and motivated design verification engineers who are interested in functional verification of x86 microprocessor cores. You’ll have the opportunity to work on and learn about some of the industry’s cutting edge micro-architectural designs while you create verification plans for new design features and architectural enhancements. Your contributions will impact products that span the global x86 market from server, to desktop and laptop designs.\nTHE PERSON:\nYou have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDefining and implementing test plans including stimulus, checking and functional coverage plans.\nDebugging regression fails and fixing verification issues or working with designers to fix design bugs.\nAnalyzing functional coverage and closing holes.\nAssist with silicon observations often requiring replication of behaviors in simulation to root cause.\nDeveloping stimulus with x86 Assembly and/or AMD's internal ISA exercisers.\nWriting System Verilog/UVM tests with constrained randomization.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nStrong knowledge of microprocessor architecture (x86 preferred).\nA passion for computer architecture\nObject Oriented Programming with System Verilog, UVM, and C/C++.\nScripting with Perl or equivalent languages.\nSimulation and debug with a Verilog based functional simulator.\nx86 Assembly language\nGeneral functional verification experience with digital designs.\nWorking experience in UNIX software environment.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor of Science in EE, CE, or CS with related industry experience OR Masters of Science in EE, CE, or CS\nLOCATION:\nAustin, TX\n\nThis role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship\n\n#LI-MF2\n#LI-HYBRID\nQualifications:\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
