You will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and platform teams to develop, debug, and maintain Linux kernel and driver components that run on cutting-edge server SoCs. The work is highly technical, fast-paced, and directly impacts performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments. This role is onsite due to access requirements for specialized lab equipment, silicon prototypes, and validation platforms.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain Linux kernel components and device drivers for server-class SoCs\nWork within specific Linux kernel subsystems (memory management, scheduling, power, I/O, networking, etc.)\nBring up and enable new hardware platforms, including early silicon and prototype systems\nDebug complex kernel, driver, and hardware interaction issues using logs, traces, and low-level debugging tools\nCollaborate with hardware, firmware, and validation teams to diagnose and resolve system-level issues\nOptimize kernel and driver code for performance, stability, and scalability in server environments\nParticipate in code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable deliverables\nMeet project milestones and delivery deadlines while maintaining engineering quality standards\nDocument designs, implementations, and known issues for long-term maintainability\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of hands-on Linux kernel development experience\nStrong knowledge of Linux kernel subsystems and internal architecture\n5+ years of Linux device driver development experience\n5+ years of experience working with server-class SoCs or similar hardware platforms\nProficiency in C programming for low-level system software\nExperience debugging kernel-level issues across hardware and software boundaries\nSolid understanding of operating system concepts such as memory management, interrupts, concurrency, and scheduling\nAbility to work onsite with specialized equipment and lab environments\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with early-stage silicon, bring-up, or pre-production hardware\nFamiliarity with performance tuning and optimization in large-scale server systems\nExperience working in environments with strict quality, reliability, and delivery expectations\nExposure to cloud infrastructure or hyperscale data center platforms\nExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams across hardware and software disciplines\nSalary Range\nAt Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $48.08 to $55.29/HR. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
