Chief Engineer

Schedule: 7am-3pm (flexible) Monday through Friday on site, on-call rotation.Chief Engineer - JLLWhat this job involves:The Chief Engineer oversees the efficient, safe and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment. You will oversee engineering at a 200,000 + square foot Class A office building in Portland.What your day-to-day will look like:Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systemsSupervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal developmentCreate and routinely update a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance proceduresParticipate regularly in client-facing and property team communicationsLead, create and manage engineering budget and participate in overall operating budget processAssist in the development of a capital improvement planSelect, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor and document performanceRespond effectively to emergencies and service callsLead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and proceduresOther duties as requested by property management team and/or clientRequired Qualifications:7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or similarPeople management experience (leading a team)Universal CFC EPA certificationExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or driveComfort using ladders up to 30 feet tallStrong customer service and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
