Today, the company is focusing on carbon reductions, not offsets, as it works toward achieving its verified science-based targets by 2030 and its goal to become a carbon negative enterprise by 2040.\nProcurement Specialist\nPosition summary:\nThis Procurement Specialist role is responsible for purchasing yarn, the largest raw material.\nEducational requirements:\nFour Year College degree, or in lieu of BA/BS degree, will consider 8+ years of experience in functional area.\nCPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or commitment to become certified within two years of employment.\nHigh School Diploma Required\n\nSkills and experience:\nProven negotiation skills\nGood communication skills, verbal and written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong computer skills in Lotus and Microsoft applications working with Pivot tables, V look ups, linking spreadsheets, formula and spreadsheet creations.\nA minimum of three years purchasing experience in a direct purchasing role. Will consider experience in a direct planning role.\nExperience conducting supplier meetings for business reviews, issue resolution, etc.…. (need to demonstrate experience with supplier relations and management)\nForecasting and inventory management skills preferred\nMust be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks and projects, and work well under pressure of deadlines.\n\nEssential duties:\nForecast yarn purchases.\nPurchase yarn in the most cost-effective manner while also maintaining inventory levels and service requirements.\nVendor management including service, improvement and sustainability initiatives, and setting clear expectations with yarn supplier(s)\nWork closely with our Planning Department to ensure yarn delivery when required.\nSet and publish metrics for performance indicators.\nMinimize yarn inventory and turns through strategic purchasing.\nAnalyze yarn usage to minimize obsolete yarn.\nManage Supplier contracts.\nWork with internal stakeholders and suppliers to maintain competitive pricing (in terms of upcharges from base price), service, and quality.\nMaintain communications with internal stakeholders.\nWork closely with key suppliers to understand the market and ensure continuity of supply.\nWork with the Global Procurement Specialist to understand global projects that will affect the local spend and to communicate local projects that may be global opportunities.\nConduct supplier meetings where required.\nFacilitate resolution supplier invoicing issues.\nPerform as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Auditor.\nMaintain housekeeping.\nComply with safety rules.\nComply with environmental regulations.\nBe aware of departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS).\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPhysical demands:\nCustomary Office\n\nWork environment:\nOffice environment\n\n#LI-AS1\n#On-site\nWe are a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
