The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to engage with literature and informational texts while preparing them for academic success, effective communication, and lifelong learning.Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction for high school students Develop lessons that strengthen reading comprehension, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and growth Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students Assess student progress using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies and provide timely feedback to students and families Maintain accurate student records, grades, and classroom documentation Integrate technology and a variety of instructional resources into classroom learning experiences Encourage student discussion, collaboration, creativity, and independent thinking Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development, instructional improvement, and student achievement Participate in professional development, staff meetings, parent conferences, and school activities as required Maintain classroom management practices that promote respect, responsibility, and student engagement Ensure compliance with school policies, district expectations, and state educational standardsCommunicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.Qualifications Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate English Language Arts endorsement required Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field required Strong instructional, communication, classroom management, and organizational skills Knowledge of current literacy standards, instructional best practices, and assessment strategies Ability to effectively engage, motivate, and support high school students Experience working with high school students preferred Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)Preferred Qualities Passion for literacy education and student achievement Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community members Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school improvement efforts Dedication to continuous professional growth and reflective teaching practicesApplication InformationInterested candidates should submit application materials to: https://jobs.redroverk12.com/org/ClimaxScottsPanthersNOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATIONThe Board of Education shall comply with all Federal laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination and with all requirements and regulations of the U.S. Department of Education.
